Zindagi Gulzar Hai (Urdu: زندگی گلزار ہے; English: Life is a Rose Garden) was a Pakistani serial, directed by Sultana Siddiqui and produced by Momina Duraid of Moomal Productions, which was broadcast on Hum TV.[2] Based on a novel of the same name, written by Umera Ahmad,[3] it premiered on 30 November 2012. It is the second highest-rated Pakistani television series. The serial was aired on Fridays, at 8:00 pm. The final episode was broadcast in late May 2013. The shows airs in Middle East on MBC Bollywood.

Rafia had separated from her husband, Murtaza, (Waseem Abbas) because she didn't fulfill his desire of having a son. As a result, he married another woman, who did eventually give birth to his son. Rafia works as the principal of a government school and also gives tuitions to children during the evenings. Kashaf, her eldest daughter, gets admission in a well-known university, where she eventually meets Zaroon, who happens to come from a very rich family. However, they don't get along well with each other. Zaroon's jealousy for Kashaf emerges from the fact that Kashaf had done better than him in studies.
Zaroon, in his school days, had always remained the best. As a result of his envy he ends up having arguments and fights with her. However, later Zaroon's tries to patch up with her but his attempts are repeatedly turned down. Zaroon's family consists of his laid-back and patient father; an independent, but workaholic and somewhat arrogant mother-who doesn't give much time to her family -and his sister Sara (Ayesha Omar), who is just like her mother. Zaroon's circle of friends consists of Asmara (Mehreen Raheel) and Osama (Shehryar Munawar Siddiqui). He remains unaware of the fact that Asmara is in love with him. They end up getting engaged but due to irreconcilable differences they break off the engagement.
He shows disapproval of Asmara's lifestyle but she stubborn refuses to compromise. Zaroon states many times that his ideal wife would have qualities found in Kashaf. One year later, Zaroon and Kashaf meet once again in a professional circle due to their jobs. Once again, Zaroon's attempts at friendship are repeatedly turned down, as Kashaf believes him to be the same flirtatious and irresponsible person as before.
On the other hand, Osama, who had been the only good male friend of Kashaf from the university, proposes to Kashaf, who in turn rejects him, as she doesn't want to complicate her life by getting married. Later Zaroon talks to Sir Abrar, who is his and Kashaf's former university professor. Sir Abrar was also a mentor to Kashaf and Zaroon's close family friend. Zaroon confesses to him that he wants to marry Kashaf and asks him to talk to Kashaf regarding this. After finding out about this, Kashaf is furious with Zaroon, thinking that his proposal is not sincere. The two meet at Sir Abrar's house, where they have a heart to heart conversation. There Zaroon saves Kashaf from getting burnt by hot tea which got spilled.
