The first two one HP and other a Brother I installed the and was able to scan to computer, and fax, but for printing I received the following: NT 4.0 Printer driver is not compatible with Vista issue from Microsoft For this third printer, which I still have and still cannot print I haven't received the message, but I can fax from computer and I can scan to computer from the HP Officejet 6960, but I cannot print. It goes through all the actions, but when it tries to spool to print, nothing happens. I have reset all wireless, and I have gone through the scan doctor. I also have installed and uninstalled and still the same thing. Can you please help?

Microsoft windows nt 4 0 free download. Driver Booster. This software is available to download from the publisher site.

I have an Envy touchscreen laptop with 8.1 Windows, Vista. I do have an old HP Officejet 6500 E709n that works perfectly fine. I don't know what else to do, especially if my HP 6500 stops printing.

I can't add any printers to my computer, Thank you Milly-1. Welcome to HP Support Forums.

I came across your post and would like to help. I understand that you're unable to install HP printers on your HP ENVY TS m7 Notebook PC. I read that you have Win Vista on your laptop. An error appears stating 'NT 4.0 Printer driver is not compatible with Vista issue from Microsoft.' You have tried to install another HP Printer and the issue persists.

You've run the HP Print and Scan Doctor program and that couldn't fix this either. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job. To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details: • Are you trying to install the drivers from the disk that came with the printers or from the HP website? • Are you trying to connect the printer via USB or wirelessly? Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix: • First, please check if there are any updates available from Microsoft for Windows Vista? • Secondly, uninstall all HP printer drivers from the root level by following the below steps: • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features. • Select your HP printer.

• Select Uninstall. • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers. • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device. Desktop Defender Game. ” • Open up the run command with the 'Windows Key + R' key combo.

• Type printui.exe /s and click OK. • Click on Drivers tab. • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

• Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows. • Close Devices and Printers. • You may download and install the Windows Vista drivers for your HP Officejet 6500 All-in-One Printer from this. I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Please feel free to me know.

All the best! Thank you, but I have already preformed these steps several times. I took advantage of the warranty and called HP tech support. Hint: if tech support cannot help you, hang up and call again. That was my case. The second time I called the tech installed files that weren't there (such as IV 4).

Anyway the second tech helped me. The main solution is to try and find another printer driver that will work. For the HP printer 6968, the tech used the driver for an HP 8600 pribter. Thank you for trying to help.
